browser problem e-residency card

Postby AnnaV » Fri, 1st Dec, 2017 11:59 am

Dear ALL, who knows how to fix browser problem? I can not sign anything with my e-residency card, although it is valid. The message says it is browser. But I can not find any instructions how to resolve it. I read tonnes of general information, but I can not find how to solve this problem.

I've actually encountered this issue previously when I tried to sign in to the business registry at rik.ee. The software seems to be a quite buggy, especially in Firefox. I had to switch to Chrome because it just didn't work for me despite the number of things I tried. What browser are you using and what site are you trying to sign in to?

In any case, you could try the following steps.
1. First, make sure that the ID software is installed. You can install it from https://installer.id.ee/?lang=eng

2. After installing the ID software, the browser extensions should be automatically installed. If you are using Chrome, the extension is called Token signing. If you are using Firefox, the add-on is also called Token signing. You can check the extension / add-on settings to make sure that both are enabled.

3. Reboot your computer.

4. Plug in the card reader and then insert your e-residency card. Make sure that the card is properly inserted.

5. Open the site you want to log in to in a new browser window, and then try to log in. You should get a pop up titled "Select a Certificate" that shows your name as registered on the e-residency card. Click OK.

6. You should get another dialog box that asks for your PIN. Enter your PIN1 and then click OK or Unlock. This should then log you in to the site successfully.

Hope this helps.
